Buyer Beware

"These are very poorly made. There is piling on the outer thigh after two wears and they are see through. The fabric is inconsistent with see through patches, so I'm pretty sure they are defected and it looks like there is an issue with the weave. In the photo I've uploaded, you can literally see my skin on my upper thigh through them and darker patches where the weave was heavier. These are one of the poorer quality garments I have ever purchased, as other reviews have mentioned I am worried they will rip. I will never purchase another 200 set and do not believe they are sturdy enough to survive being gently washed according to instructions."

Great layer

"purchased these for an upcoming winter trip. Was worried about fit but they genuinely fit perfectly, not too tight or too loose around my waist. I know they’ll be great under my layers. The material feels incredibly soft."

Incredible!

"I love the waistband of these leggings. I recently wore these in Glacier National Park, both for sleep and as a base layer during a hike. They worked great at keeping me comfortable temperature-wise, while also allowing my legs and hips to move freely. I'm getting set to purchase a second pair."

Java is plum: great leggings!

"I ordered the XS because I'm quite petite in the hips/bum and legs; however, my waist is larger than the recommended sizing, and it seems to be fine. I have a S in a different style and it looks oversized on me with weird creasing; so, I'm happy with the XS fit. Material is thin, but really comfortable; will have to see how it stands up long term. Java color is a beautiful, deep plum, I wouldn't really call it a brown. Gorgeous color!"

comfy not as strong as I hoped. . .

"very nice and comfy, although after one woolwash on 30 degrees with woolsoap, little hole at the centre already. . . not used to this from icebreaker. . ."

Not pure merino wool

"The marketing of the fabric content is deceitful. I usually purchase Oasis 200 leggings because they’re 100% merino wool. This pair however contains a polyester/spandex “middle layer”, so in actuality these are not 100% merino and more like 67% merino and 33% poly and spandex blend. They’re still being marketed as 100% merino though, which is deceptive and hoping people won’t notice if they just go by the “Oasis” name. It’s a shame because the shade is very pretty and I like the waistband, but they shouldn’t cost more than the original pure merino ones."

null

"These wool base layer pants are my absolute favorite. They are very warm and great for both active days skiing on the mountain or sedentary days winter camping. They never feel scratchy or make me itch and they also don’t move around under my layers both distinctive features I really appreciate about all my icebreaker base layers!"

Easily rips

"I love the weight and feel of these base layers. I have worn them a handful of times backcountry skiing however they recently ripped when I pulled them up! I’m so bummed because they are an awesome layer just not as durable as I had hoped."

— Anonymous (2/5)

What color is "Java?"

"I was looking for a pair of brown wool leggings. I got these in the Java color even though the pictures made them look more red. After receiving them, they appear more of a purple wine color. Still a pretty color, but if the color name Java was confusing you too, you're not alone."
